  • In our eyes, an elopement is a small celebration, sometimes just the bride and groom, which is intentionally designed to be an experience that is 100% tailored towards the couple. Every element of the day is relevant to their relationship and is a true reflection of their journey together. We feel that this style of celebrating often captivates couples in ways that a larger, more traditional wedding is not able to.

  • Yes we do! We’re as comfortable photographing a more traditional, full day wedding as we are looking through the lens on top of a mountain summit. Our approach stays the same and we focus on the more natural and candid moments that unfold. Whilst we love natural light, we’re equally as comfortable to tastefully add our own off camera flash when needed to complement our style.

  • Don’t worry about this, it’s quite natural to be a little uncomfortable in front of the camera. We focus our attention on the in-between moments, the body language and the candid moments that all happen naturally, and with two photographers for our artistic process, not a moment will be missed. We’re approachable and conversational so that if we feel the need to offer some prompts along the way, it won’t feel forced.

  • We get asked this a lot and please understand that you don’t need to be a mountain goat to get epic views. There are lots of amazing scenery that can be accessed just a few minutes walk from the car. That said, there’s also some incredible mutli-day hikes that we’ve been on with couples that have required a solid baseline of hiking experience.

The most important thing we consider when planning locations with couples is what the overall experience will feel like. This has more to do with who you are as a couple than it does your fitness levels.

  • We live in Canmore, Alberta in the Canadian Rockies. We commonly shoot in Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Kananaskis, Canmore, Waterton and Castle. We are available for travel further afield and are happy to discuss your plans with you, anywhere in the world.

  • Turbulent weather is a big part of our mountain environment and always adds something unique to your celebration. It’s a common misconception that sunny days are best in the mountains, especially when photography is in the mix. We prefer swirling clouds, passing showers and sunny spells...after all, you can’t have a rainbow without rain!

From our years of experience in the mountains, we’ll make sure that you’re comfortable in the conditions and keep safety at the front of our decision making. This is where our pre-planning for “plan b & c” locations will be valuable, for example if lightning in the forecast threatens our “plan a” summit session.

  • We prefer to keep things as natural and accurate to the conditions as possible. Our editing will represent what you actually saw and experienced on your day. As and when we feel it’s appropriate to your story we will include black and white images in your final gallery.

We don’t outsource for our editing, instead making sure that every photo that makes the gallery is worthy of your story. We don’t use filters or go by editing trends as they tend not to stand the test of time.

  • Absolutely. Once you’ve contacted us, we focus on making sure you have the complete picture of how we work and what to expect from us. We know how important it is to see a more rounded collection of images to get a realistic feel for how your day may look so just ask for one in your enquiry.

  • We can secure and book dates up to 2 years in advance for those seeking out a very specific date. Generally, for weekends and warmer months, you’ll need to plan further ahead and for mid-week celebrations, it’s easier to book closer to your date. That said, there’s no right or wrong for securing your date and we’re happy to accommodate couples working with a short timeline - we put together our own elopement in 3 weeks so we know that it’s possible!

    1. Send us an email at hello@wildalpineimages.com or through our contact form. We’ll arrange a call to introduce ourselves, find out more about your dream day and go over our packages and pricing.

    2. Secure Your Date. Complete and sign your contract along with your deposit to secure us as your photographers.

    3. Planning your Day. We’ll help shape your day into the exact way you dreamt it to be. Everything from the location to ideas for accommodation or local vendor recommendations.

    4. Enjoy your Adventure Together.

    5. Relive the Memories. We’ll send you a few images as a sneak-peek a few days after your celebration to enjoy and share with loved ones. When the full gallery is ready, we’ll send it through.

We’ll be your support network throughout the whole process to ensure that nothing gets missed.

  • We provide our collections through an online gallery from where you can view and download your hi-res images.

  • There’s always much more to do in an area than meets the eye. We’ve found from our travels that it really helps to connect with the locals to find those hidden gems that aren’t splashed all over Instagram or the travel brochures. Consider us your Canadian Rockies locals, happy to help with your travel questions to make sure your visit is filled with memorable moments.

  • Our style of photography focuses on the in-between moments, the body language and the candid moments that all happen naturally. With two photographers it is possible to be in two places at once. From capturing both partners preparing for their day to different perspectives of the same moment, it all happens effortlessly with two photographers.

As a wife-husband team, having eloped ourselves, we understand the importance of capturing your story in a way that can be re-told without words. We work seamlessly with each other, knowing instinctively each other’s processes and approach to photography - something which you definitely won’t find with photographers hiring 2nd shooters.

For a quick introduction, learn more about us or check out the full story and our own elopement.

  • After your special day, we send you a few images as a sneak-peek. From there, we allow a maximum of 12 weeks to deliver your final gallery. This is our longest expectation during our busiest weeks of the year. That said, we’re sticklers for getting things done before moving on to the next project. You’ll often find that we deliver our galleries much sooner than our 12-week window allows.

  • Engagement shoots are completely up to the couple. If you do decide that you want an engagement session, it allows us all a chance to get to know each other more, so that when your special day arrives it’ll feel like good friends joining in on the fun. If you’re booking your wedding/elopement with us you’ll also get a discount on your engagement shoot!

  • Yes, we can! We consider this to be one of our strengths. As we spend so much of our personal time in the mountains, we’re always on the lookout for lesser traveled trails. Unless you have your heart set on a certain spot, let us show you some of the amazing places we’ve visited where you’re sure to escape the tourists and crowds without having to get up at 1am for summer sunrises!
